Tutoring
Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) provides a free tutoring service for all student-athletes to assist them in achieving success in the classroom. Tutorial services are available each semester in most courses, particularly math, science, and English.
Tutoring is a service offered to all student-athletes and is not a requirement. A student-athlete’s Academic Counselor may, however, mandate tutoring in any subjects areas in which the student-athlete is struggling.
All tutors are upper-classmen who have excelled in the subject area in which they are tutoring. Tutoring sessions are most commonly one-on-one, but may be held in small groups.
Student-Athlete Academic Services is committed to providing its student-athletes with positive learning experiences through our academic support programs. To ensure that we continue to meet this commitment, we need student-athlete feedback. Please complete the tutor evaluation after your appointments. Your feedback provides us with an opportunity to make further improvements in our academic support programs.
Should the SAAS Programs not accommodate the student-athlete’s needs, the following are other free tutoring options:
• The Learning Center — located on the 2nd floor of Lee Hall
• The Writing Lab — located on the 1st floor of the Library, Dupre 155A
• The Math Lab — located in Lee Hall 201
