The SAAC provides a free tutoring service for all student-athletes to assist them in achieving success in the classroom. Tutorial services are available each semester in most courses, particularly math, science, and English.
Tutoring is a service offered to all student-athletes and is not a requirement, however, a student-athlete’s Academic Counselor may mandate tutoring in any subjects areas in which the student-athlete is struggling.
All tutors are upper-class students who have excelled in the subject area in which he/she is tutoring. Tutoring sessions may be one-on-one or held in small groups.
The Student-Athlete Academic Center is committed to providing its student-athletes with positive learning experiences through our academic support programs. To ensure that we continue to meet this commitment, we need student-athlete feedback. Please complete the tutor evaluation after your appointments. Your feedback provides us with an opportunity to make further improvements in our academic support programs.
The Student-Athlete Academic Center now has study groups! See Mr. Dustin for more information about signing up.
There are other free tutoring options, should the SAAC Program not accommodate the student-athlete’s needs:
• The Learning Center — located in the Academic Success Center, Lee Hall (2nd floor).
• The Writing Center — located in H.L. Griffin Hall, Room 107.
• The Math Lab — located in Lee Hall 204.
